1 -Chloro-2-methylbenzene can be degraded in the presence of OH radicals yielding an atmospheric half life of 8.8 days (Currenta, 2009). According to the guidance document R.11 (ECHA, 2008), an atmospheric half-life of greater than 2 days might indicate a potential for long range transport.

Furthermore hydrolysis is unlikely to occur as the molecule does not contain chemical moieties or reactive groups which would indicate hydrolysis under environmental conditions.
