Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

There are no chemical groups associated with explosive properties present in the molecule.

The exothermic decomposition energy of DCDPS was determined using Differential Scanning Calorimetry in a closed, gold plated high pressure vessel (Habeck & Kühne 2009). The decomposition energy does not exceed the UN Recommendation criteria limit of 500 J/g

Justification for classification or non-classification

Applying the internationally recognised UN Recommendation criteria, DCDPS is not to be classified as explosive material.
