Additional information

The key study concerning the short-term toxicity of 3 -dimethylaminopropiononitrile (CAS 1738 -25 -6) to fish was performed as a guideline study according to DIN 38412 Part 15 with the test species Leuciscus idus (BASF AG, 1989, report no. 10F0143/885226).

The LC50 based on nominal test item concentrations was determined to be 681.2 mg/L (calculated as geometrical mean, no analytical verification of the test item concentrations). At a test concentration of 464 mg/L no fish died, whereas a 100% mortality was observed in the next higher tested concentration of 1000 mg/L.
