vapour pressure
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the melting point is above 300°C

Description of key information

According to Annex VII section 7.5, Column 2 of regulation (EC) 1907/2006, this study does not need to be conducted for solids having a melting point above 300°C. For the test item sodium azide, no melting point could be observed during DSC measurement. Between 370 °C and 425 °C the substance decomposes with an exothermic energy of 758 J/g. The onset temperature of this exothermic reaction is 378 °C and the maximum heat flow of 5 W/g was reached at 396 °C (please also refer to section 4.2).

As a default for chemical safety assessment, a vapour pressure value of 1E-06 Pa at 20 °C is assumed.
